(Group B-2 Sensei) Kanzen Hoseki
Fortify Bloodline/Crystal Style
“It’s always worth fighting to defend what you love, but never worth fighting to destroy what you hate”
Kanzen was a frontline ninja during the 30 years war, he fought for the Mountain nation inside of the Crag nation. He has an exceptionally powerful bloodline that allowed him to survive for so long on the front lines which lets him crystallize parts of his body. He is also exceptionally strong and fights with a bow staff which compliments his unusual speed for his strength and resilience. Kanzen did some things during the war he isn’t proud of, like slaughtering villages that were revolting so the Shadow nation couldn’t capitalize on the rebellion. Kanzen was also usually put with weaker ninja who he would let die to accomplish the objective. He had been raised to believe that the objective was the only important thing as a ninja.
Kanzen was fighting on the battle when the Avatar of Heaven attacked. His bloodline allowed him to survive the blast, but when he looked around him, the devastation changed something inside of him. It was at that moment he left the Mountain nation and became a wanderer. As far as his village was concerned he was dead, so he was free to go wherever he wanted and do what he wanted.
During his travels he also found a strange creature being attacked by some villagers. He intervened and found a young…lizard woman and her daughter. The woman was close to death and was clutching her child for dear life. He scared off the villagers and tried to help the woman, but she was too far gone to save. She handed the child to Kanzen and he promised to raise her without really thinking about what that meant. He traveled to the Shattered Sky and spent time there as a farmer on a pretty successful farm, he had convinced them that Rui, the lizard baby, simply had a strange skin condition. He grew close with the other workers and the owners of the land, but one day bandits attacked the farm. But as the Celestial Concord started to near its end Kanzen knew he needed to leave and use his skills elsewhere. He promised the family that he would return after the war and left them all of his traveling money.
Kanzen made his way to the ninja village and pledged himself to the Kage. Kanzen, being an experienced frontline fighter of the war, was given some genin to train and teach the horrors of war. He also began to train Rui to defend herself when he was gone, because she would be ostracized her whole life and needed to be ready for that. Kanzen is teaching them that the objective come secondary to their survival and that its more important to be a good person than a good ninja. The other ninja in the village think Kanzen is being too soft on them, but the students are quickly learning and keeping up with the skill levels of the other groups, so no one has formally complained about his methodology.
